New Manchester United technical director Darren Fletcher has lauded the attitude shown by young attacker Mason Greenwood who made his breakthrough in the first team last season. Greenwood also drew the praise of his manager, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
Darren Fletcher andSolskjaer talked about Greenwood in a chat with GQ shortly after the big win over Granada in the first leg of the Europa League quarterfinals. Manchester United ran out 2-0 winners away from home last week Thursday with the second leg scheduled to take place at the Theatre of Dreams on Thursday night.
Ex-Manchester United midfielder Darren Fletcher was recently appointed the technical director at the club and he’s expected to work alongside manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. The two ex-Red Devils players have been delighted with the quality shown by Greenwood despite his reduced numbers on the attacking front.
England international Greenwood has seven goals in 42 appearances in all competitions this season in comparison to the attacking return of 17 goals in 49 games last season. His latest goal came during the comeback win over hosts Tottenham Hotspur at the weekend. The Englishman came off the bench to score the clinching goal in the 3-1 win over Spurs.
Fred, EdinsonCavani and Greenwood scored in the second half to overturn the first half strike from Son Heung-Min and give Manchester United an impressive 3-1 victory over the North London club.
